Innovation and Technology

The Department of Innovation and Technology is responsible for leading the Village’s technology innovation strategy to advance the Village’s technology footprint and enhance the digital quality of life. The role of the head of the department is to solve organizational, service delivery and/or community issues through the analysis of current processes and procedures, application of technology and expected outcomes. The goal is to:

  • close experience gaps where the Village fails to meet expectations; and
  • maximize organizational resources (financial, human, materials, information) during service delivery; and
  • look for future service models and collaboration opportunities.

The head of the department acts as the organizational “entry portal” to exploring new concepts and launching new initiatives. Therefore, works across Village departments and proactively engages with diverse constituencies to formulate creative solutions. Identifies new systems of deploying government services through innovative use of technology and appropriately exerts influence in order to encourage and build organizational business capacity.

In the midst of improved service and collaboration, privacy and security of residents' data and personal information will remain paramount. Lake Zurich constituents can rest assured that we are doing everything possible to fight the evolving threats faced in computer security.
