Our beaches are closed at this time. If this was a normal summer, our beaches would have opened for the Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, this isn’t a normal summer and in keeping with the Restore Illinois safety guidelines, beaches will remain closed until the State’s guidelines allow us to safely open them. When the beach at Paulus Park does open, the Wibit inflatables will not be available this year since their use is not compatible with social distancing requirements.
The situation is very fluid, as the CDC and IDPH guidelines are constantly being updated. We are closely monitoring what other communities are doing and are looking to best practices from across the country. We remain focused on balancing keeping people as safe as possible, while allowing everyone to enjoy the summer as best they can.
Daily beach opening times vary and are weather dependent. For up--to-date beach status, click here.
