Firefighter/Paramedic Job Application
Application Deadline: August 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
Starting Salary: $66,007
Minimum Requirements:

U.S. Citizen or an alien admitted for permanent residence or lawfully admitted for temporary residence who produces

Valid Driver’s License

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
-
21 years of age and less than 35 years of age at time of application deadline (8/28/2020), unless otherwise provided by State or Federal law, local ordinance or resolution

Submit proof of a valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and approved Ladder Climb (LC) card from a licensed agency current withing the last calendar year: August 28, 2019 – August 28, 2020

Illinois licensed EMT-P at time of hire. Must be currently enrolled in a State of Illinois IDPH approved paramedic program in order to complete the testing process

Illinois State Fire Marshal Certified Basic Firefighter or Firefighter II

Copy of birth record or proof of citizenship – may include state/county issued birth record, US Passport or Naturalization Papers. If permanent resident, you must produce evidence of intention to become a citizen of the United States

Copy of OSFM Firefighter II/Basic Operations Firefighter Certificate

Copy of valid IDPH EMT Paramedic license or letter from organization sponsoring the EMT-P enrollment

Copy of valid CPAT and ladder climb certification dated 8/28/2019 – 8/28/2020
Mandatory Written Exam:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, your exam will be offered electronically and you will take the exam in your own home. There will be multiple sessions offered and each will be proctored virtually. All sessions will be offered during business hours – it is your responsibility to ensure you have the flexibility to test during these times. In late September you will receive and email with instructions on how to schedule and prepare for the exam.

Candidates must complete the online application (you will receive a confirmation number), sign the consent and release agreement, and submit all of the required documentation listed above to IOS Recruitment by 2:00 p.m. on 8/28/2020. Application fees are non-refundable.
