Here is where you can learn more about this Department, our employees and our efforts to serve the Lake Zurich and Lake Zurich Rural Fire Protection community. We have a long and varied history and take great pride in the work performed by our professional and dedicated staff.

The men and women of the Lake Zurich Fire Department provide a comprehensive array of services around the clock for the communities we serve. Our focus is on protecting your health and safety. The Department is a full service provider, having the following teams at its disposal: fire suppression and emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, fire investigations, water rescue and low and high angle rescue teams.
We also have a Fire Prevention Bureau that is world class, specializing in community safety and fire education, plan review and code enforcement, and helping with emergency preparedness to all of our communities.
The Village of Lake Zurich Fire Department has an ISO (Insurance Services Office) rating of a 3 and the Lake Zurich Rural Fire Protection District also has a rating of a 3. For those that are not familiar with ISO, they classify all fire departments and fire districts on a scale of 1-10, with Class 1 being the best.
We also have community programs that you can participate in: the Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT), CPR and AED training, the fire explorer program for high school age students, block parties, station tours, senior safety programs and fire extinguisher training. As Fire Chief, I am responsible for ensuring the safety of our community, by rapid response to emergencies, proper training and education of the department, and making sure that we have the resources needed to perform our mission.
