Academy of Preforming Arts, offers classes in tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and specialty classes such as musical theater. We also offer classical ballet training through our own School of Ballet, leveled Ballet Program (LBP). 

We strive to provide the best environment for students to develop a love of dance, and accomplish his or her individual goals. Our professional staff offers classes that are educational; teaching the proper terminology and technique, while being motivating and fun. 

The Academy of Performing Arts Lake Zurich offers students an exceptional and progressive dance curriculum. We have class offerings appropriate for student’s two-and-half years old through elementary school, high school and beyond. 

We motivate dancers regardless of experience level: from recreational dancers to more serious students and even pre-professional young dancers.

Dance Program Resources 2026/2027

Age Requirements 

Students must be the required age by September 1, 2026, and completely toilet trained. Advanced level classes level III and above, as well as the School of Ballet are instructor permission only.

We recommend purchasing dance attire from one of the following supplier:

There are also have sizing charts for bodywear at the bottom of our website. They are usually available on chat or by phone if you need any help with deciding on a size.

APA Leveled Ballet Program


The School of Ballet Lake Zurich offers a progressing level ballet track for the more serious dancer. Students will be trained in the Royal Academy and Cecchetti methods. Evaluations will be conducted to ensure proper level placement and movement. Invitations will be distributed at the end of the spring session. Due to the ongoing nature of the ballet program entrance is only permitted in the Fall session.  


Invitation or audition only. If you are interested in enrolling your child in the LBP program please contact Mollee Johnson to set up an evaluation time. LBP students will have the opportunity to audition for a winter ballet performance.
