2. How do I obtain records?

Inspection or copies of Village records may be obtained with a Freedom of Information (FOI) request form and faxed to 847-540-1769 or emailed foia@lakezurich.org

3. How do I access the lake with my boat?

There are no public boat launches. The lake is privately owned by the property owners surrounding the water. The center of the lake is owned by the Lake Zurich Lions Club. The Lake Property Owners Association regulates how many boats are allowed and issues permits. Boat owners must have permission from property owners to launch. 4. What are the leash laws?

Dogs are allowed in Village parks on a leash as long as they are kept on paved walking paths.  Other animals authorized by the Village or State to perform activities in a park that are beneficial to the public health, benefit and welfare are also allowed.  Owners of dogs caught with dogs off the leash or caught leaving dog feces in public parks shall be fined up to $500 per violation.  To report a loose animal contact the Police Department at 847-438-2349.

5. Who are my trustees?

The Village of Lake Zurich elects a President and 6 trustees who represent the Village at-large for 4-year staggered terms. The Village Clerk is also elected for a 4-year term. They are part-time elected officials who appoint the Village Administrator to be responsible for the day to day activities of the Village operations. Link to Trustee Pages

6. How do I obtain liquor license?

Liquor Licenses are not transferrable. Applications for a new business may be obtained from Michael Duebner (847) 540-1690. Licenses are valid for calendar year with proration after July 1. The online application packet can be found here.
